The Higgins Beach Grill

Then....

Do you remember the "old store"??? ....before the Pavillion??

The "Higgins Beach Grill" sat on the corner of Ocean Avenue and Greenwood was actually a series
of connected buildings which included a store, a bowling alley, a barber shop and a restaurant.

Not quite Ma and Pa Kettle, but they sure suit the role!  This is actually Addison Buck and his wife
and two of his daughters.  The third person sitting on the porch is unknown.  The daughters later
married the Higgins brothers, Walter and Ed.

In 1902, the store met its fate and burned to the ground.  Spectators line Ocean Avenue in the
photo below to witness the event.

Now...

Sorry folks....it's long gone!
