The Connector Road To Higgins Beach In The Early 1900's
Then....
This photo is believed to be taken circa 1900 showing what wasthen a connector road cutting diagonally between Spurwink Road east of Piper Road over to Ocean Avenue.
During the hurricane of 1991, Ocean Avenue flooded over making passage to the beach by vehicle pretty much impossible. Traffic was stopped at the entrance, and even swimming was prohibited for a short time.
Now....
This road no longer exists. We may try to fly a drone over the area to see if we can detect any topography changes along this pathway.....more later.
