Driving In Style on Ashton Street ~1913
Then....
This car is sitting near the Sunnysides cottage on Ashton Street. It actually may be a patron of the Dew Drop Inn next door at 15 Ashton. We need a car buff to help us identify the specific year and model. I will guess 1913 or earlier until someone helps me out! Plates in that year were numbered 1-11,000 and were yellow serial numbers on dark blue porcelain. From 1905-1913, all plates had the word "Maine" at the bottom of the plate, but in 1912, the serial numbers stopped at 9200.
The Dew Drop Inn was purchased by Felix Barrett from the Higgins brothers in November of 1901 and later sold to Flora St Clair in 1940, so maybe this is Felix driving the car!!
Now.....
The former Dew Drop Inn is shown here on the left and the Sunnysides cottage is on the right.
