Then....
This cottage has been a beach landmark for decades. It was purchased in 1934 by Harold Morton, an heir to the Morton Salt company. The Mortons later added many properties to their beach holdings including the Pavilion Store, the Silver Sands Hotel, and all of the properties on lower Morning Street by the beach. The front porch was eliminated in favor of adding more space to the living room, and the white cottage to the left never existed before 2017.... it was an empty side yard owned by this cottage.
